Pastor Carlos Message:
As we reflect on what happened over 2,000 years ago to our Lord JesusChrist, we remember that on a night like this, He was sold for thirty pieces ofsilver by someone who had walked closely with Him--someone who haddipped his hand into the basket to take bread at the very same moment.Jesus, knowing He would be betrayed by someone He had entrusted andloved, still chose to love him until the end. In our own lives, we, too, experience betrayal and heartbreak--often from those we hold dearest--buttonight is a moment to reflect on how Jesus carried Himself with grace, dignity, and unshakable purpose. The Bible tells us that Judas, filled with remorse, returned the silver, and when it was rejected, he cast it aside and ended his life. Soon after, the people chose Barabbas over Jesus, and on that fateful Friday, our Savior was hung on a cross for all our transgressions. He was beaten, His beard ripped out, and as He was whipped, His flesh was torn. As He hung on the cross, He didn't look like the miracle-working Messiah--He was the disfigured, suffering body of Christ. And just like Him, there are seasons in our lives when we, too, feel disfigured by pain, sickness, or sorrow, when we no longer recognize ourselves. But just a few days later, Jesus rose again--restored, glorified, and transformed. Mount Pleasant, I want to remind you that as this church has also journeyed through seasons of hardship and insecurity--where what once was may have seemed to vanish--the Holy Spirit is whispering that the time of resurrection is near. This place will become a sanctuary of worship and a dwelling of Holy Spirit power like never before. This mountain will burn withholy fire, as many have prayed for--some who are now watching from above, and many who still stand ready to fight the good fight here on earth. As we finish this Holy Week, let us reflect on His greatness, His goodness, and give Him all the glory--for it is always His. He is the King of kings and the Lord of lords. With love and many blessings.
